The Boxtrolls

Thank you Nuffnang for the exclusive passes of The Boxtrolls.
FYI, The Boxtrolls is a stop motion animated film.
Personally think this is a huge manpower consuming film.
(Why I said so? Read about stop motion here)

Synopsis
A family event movie from the creators of “Coraline” and “ParaNorman” that introduces audiences to a new breed of family – The Boxtrolls, a community of quirky, mischievous creatures who have lovingly raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs (voiced by Isaac Hempstead-Wright) in the amazing cavernous home they’ve built beneath the streets of Cheesebridge. When the town’s villain, Archibald Snatcher (Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley), comes up with a plot to get rid of the Boxtrolls, Eggs decides to venture above ground, “into the light,” where he meets and teams up with fabulously feisty Winnifred (Elle Fanning). Together, they devise a daring plan to save Eggs’ family.

Since it is an animated film, The Boxtrolls is definitely suitable for kids.
In fact, I think kids may love Boxtrolls, like they love minions in Despicable Me.
Their names are so cute and easy to remember such as Fish, Shoes, Egg, etc..
Unlike minions, you can easily differentiate the boxtrolls by the pictures on the boxes.
As I mentioned, this is a stop motion animated film.
I must show my respect to the creators.
A one-minute stop motion had consumed more than 5 hours.
Imagine one and a half hour?
So, I will say. “Great job, LAIKA (the animation studio)!”

Nevertheless, I personally think some plots are ridiculous.
For example the White Hats class.
It doesn’t make sense that they don’t understand issue more than children.
Also, although it is a comedy animation,
The laughing parts are less than expected.
Some plots actually caused me want to cry.

Overall, The Boxtrolls is a worth-to-watch movie.
If you have children in family,
you may plan to watch this film in this coming family day.
