Synopsis
From producer Guillermo del Toro and director Jorge Gutierrez comes an animated comedy with a unique visual style. THE BOOK OF LIFE is the journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears. Rich with a fresh take on pop music favorites, THE BOOK OF LIFE encourages us to celebrate the past while looking forward to the future.

I believe this animated film was shown in October due to Halloween is around the corner.
For me, it is related to Halloween because there is a plot talks about after-life.
Talking about Halloween, perhaps you may think of horror film.
Nope, The Book of Life is definitely NOT horror movie;
Indeed, it is a comedy.
Also, instead of heaven and hell, here we only have The Land of Forgotten or The Land of Remembered.
To certain extent, you may find the appearance of cast looks creepy.
However, they are still cute (at least for me).
The Book Of Life brings a very huge positive message to its audiences.
It tells a lot in term of be yourself and remember the thing we like to do.
All in all, The Book of Life is an animated comedy,
which brings the audiences a lot of positive messages.
Also, the different perspective to see afterlife.
However, there are still typical storyline in this film.
Still, kids will still love it much.
Maybe this weekend, you may have a movie date with your child in the cinema?

Rating: 3/5
