Two more weeks until Valentine’s Day. Gentlemen, have you planned where to go for Valentine’s dinner with your crush? I have a great suggestion if you are around Malacca. Let’s go to Olio Restaurant located at Ramada Plaza!
Recognized for its outstanding service and culinary perfection from Chaine des Rotisseurs, Olio Restaurant has been awarded Top Ten HAPA Best Western Cuisine Restaurant for 2010 – 2012. FYI, Olio is an Italian fine dining restaurant, offers wide selection of Italian cuisine, such as pizzas and pastas, warm soups, meals of seafood and meat.
Olio Restaurant offers contemporary, rustic charm with warm inviting feel of Mediterranean with its tiles, walls, wooden furnishing with mood lightings and candles. When stepping into Olio, you will feel comfortable and relax. At your left, it is the open kitchen of Olio Restaurant. It definitely adds more confidence to diners that the chefs are well-trained, or we should say, they are high quality.
There is also a private room at Olio Restaurant. If you are planning to have small party or dinner gathering with a group of friends, you may consider making reservation for the private room.
Be prepared to be spoiled by mouth-watering Italian delight! Starting with bread; pane con le olive and panini. Bread is homemade by the chef, it was soft and fresh.
Salad lover should try Olio’s salad. It was freshly made in front of you! I know some restaurants do this as well, yet this is the first time I experienced it.
Subsequently, let’s have some hot soups to warm your stomach. You are recommended to try Zuppa Di Pesce Cioppino (Seafood Cioppino Soup). Tasty and appetizing tomato based stew with prawns, mussels and squid with fresh herbs.
If you prefer something creamy, do have a try on Zuppa Di Funghi Selvatici (Mushroom Soup). Another homemade dish by Olio Restaurant, this wild mushroom cream soup is rich with herbs croutons and fresh cream.
Another must-try dish at Olio Restaurant is their stone oven-baked pizza. Dough was made by the chef, this thin crusted pizza comes with ultimate family favorite choice such as Hawaiian Chicken Pizza. Delightful tropical pizza with a combination of fresh pineapple, roasted chicken, mushroom and mozzarella. FYI, the pizza is inch; hence, if you are having a dinner for 2, you probably don’t have to order other delicacies.
Besides, there are also delicious main courses served at Olio Restaurant. If you are craving for seafood meal, you should go for their chef’s signature dish – Arrosto Di Merzullo (Roasted Cod). The cod fish was served together with baby carrot and zucchini pappadelle, sauteed cocktail potato and red capsicum sauce. It was fresh and nicely roasted, no fishy taste at all.
Alternatively, try Pan Fried Norwegian Salmon. It was served with roasted vegetable and buttered dill potato. It was heavenly delicious, it was not hard to chew.
Beef lover will never miss out having high-quality rib eye! Olio Restaurant serves Australia Grain Fed Prime Rib Eye. You can choose your own vegetable, potato and sauce.
Furthermore, pasta lover is recommended to try Chicken Piccatta. Again, pasta is homemade by the chef. It was served with puttanesca sauce and mixed green lettuce.
Last but not least, dessert to end up your day! Classic Homemade Tiramisu with mango compote and fresh berries. It was creamy but not greasy. Intend to try something different which gives you a sweet and lovely memory with your loved one, do try out the Blueberry Cream Cheese Cannoli. Sicilian cannoli filled with Italian blueberry cream cheese served with chocolate sauce and berry compote.
